About EMMSUS

EMMSUS (Dr Evodia Mabuza-Mokoko Substance Services)
will contribute to the prevention, treatment and recovery for substance users. It also provides research and training in the field of substance use.

It also provides research and training in the field of substance use. It assists the most vulnerable citizens, of all ages to be free from substance use. EMMSUS will contribute alongside partner agencies to promote the well-being of the nation and treat addiction. 

We aim to work in collaboration with other agencies to ensure the most effective service provision. EMMSUS will develop social care with collaborators in the social service sector and council colleagues.

Objectives

About Dr Evodia Mabuza-Mokoko

Dr Mabuza-Mokoko, holds a Doctrate Degree from the University of Limpopo and has extensive knowledge of working in the field of substance use.

Further, Dr Mabuza-Mokoko is also a qualified ETDP SETA Outcome-Based Assessment Assessor and Moderator, HWESETA registration.

Dr Evodia Mabuza-Mokoko has extensive knowledge in research and was employed by Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) for 5 years. She was employed by the National Department of Social Development as the head of the Central Drug Authority (CDA).

EMMSUS’s BHF Practice number is 0976571 and was founded by Dr Evodia Mabuza-Mokoko, a qualified Registered Social Worker, Registration Number 10-06734 South African Council for Social Service Preofessionals (SACSSP). 

In fact, she did the groundwork to establish the Central Drug Authority and ensured that the National Entity in the field of substance abuse has members on the board, and staff and operates within the prescribed legislation (The Prevention of and Treatment of Substance Abuse Act, no: 70 of 2008), as well as the previous Acts (The Prevention and Treatment of Drug Dependency Act, 20 of 1992 and the Amendment Act No, 14 of 1999).

She served in the CDA for many years. Thereafter, she opened a private practice to help individuals, families, and groups affected by the scourge of substance use, misuse, and abuse . She holds the International Certified Addictions Professional (ICAP) Certificate under the auspices of the International Centre of Credentialing and Education of Addiction Professionals (ICCE). The practice adheres to the South African Council of Social Services Professions (SACSSP), The Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), and the Board of Health Funders (BHF) Codes of ethics. The practice applies the pro bono principle to needy clients.

What We Offer

Our Rates and Fees

  • We charge a once off consultation fee.
    A Call Out Fee applies for Professional travel time out of the office.
  • A cancellation fee of R100 to R200 is applicable dependent on if you cancel the session five days, three days or two days before the session
  • Additional fees will be applied to clients that need special needs or extra attention.

Terms and Conditions

  • Each session is based on the type of problem.
  • Each session will range between a minimum of four (4) to eight (8) / ten (10) sessions.
  • 1 on 1 sessions last one hour and are billed at an hourly rate i.e per session.
  • Each session will be charged according to the session / home visit duration.
  • We accept cash, debit orders, medical aid or your preferred method of payment
